Protect Your Vehicle With a Ghost Immobiliser
It is only logical to safeguard our vehicles because they are an object of pride and joy. The Autowatch Ghost is a subtle vehicle immobiliser which connects to your vehicle's CAN data network. It operates through the ECU (your car's brain).
Once it is installed the device will stop your car from moving unless the pin code sequence you choose (up to 20 presses) is entered, similar to like a PIN on your credit card.
No Key Fobs, LED Indications or LEDs to identify its location
The Ghost Immobiliser is virtually invisible to anyone entering your vehicle since it does not utilize LED indicators or key fobs. The system makes use of buttons that are already in use, such as the centre console or the steering wheel to create a unique, changeable pin code sequence that has to be entered before your vehicle will start. The system can be programmed to require up to 20 press before the engine can start, making it nearly impossible for criminals or cloners to hack into your car.
Modern car thieves are able to use professional diagnostic tools to detect what security systems are installed in vehicles, but the Ghost does not transmit signals like conventional systems do. Using sophisticated RF scanning, code-grabbing technology and relay attack techniques, criminals can detect the kind of security equipment is installed in your vehicle. This allows them to alter the alarm or immobiliser circuits to disable your system and escape with your vehicle.
The Ghost is unique from other immobilisers available on the market as it is integrated directly into the CAN data network of your van or car and is nearly impossible to bypass. The system also works with many newer car's that do not have built-in key fob security. It is also used with electric vehicles and it is able to prevent the vehicle from going into an "service valet" mode.
When it is installed by one of our trained engineers, we provide a TASSA verified guarantee to give you assurance that your installation is secure and of the highest standard. TASSA is a non-profit organization which maintains and improves standards within the automotive security industry. They ensure that all of their approved installers have been through DBS checks and are certified, insured and trained to install the Ghost. They also provide you with the owner's guides, installation certifications and an emergency card from Ghost. This will also make your car eligible for a significant reduction in the cost of your insurance. This is because your car will be less likely be taken away and your insurers will have a better time recovering.
No Circuit Cuts
The Ghost is the first aftermarket CAN bus immobiliser that protects your vehicle in a way that is unlike anything else available. It is not linked to LED indicators or key fobs but communicates directly with the vehicle's CAN system. It then blocks the ECU and prevent the engine from starting until a specific PIN has been entered into the vehicle's dash or steering-wheel buttons (brand dependent). This means it is impossible for thieves to 'hack' into the system by using relay attacks or any other means and can't simply be disabled by pressing the buttons a few times like with older systems.
The system also comes with the Service and Valet mode that is activated when the vehicle is in garage for servicing or valet parking. This allows the vehicle to begin temporarily whilst being worked on without having to give keys or the pin code, however it then it automatically turns off after the vehicle is in your possession.
This makes the Ghost more secure option for classic, sports or high-end automobiles that require battery isolation while parked for long periods of time. It is also unnoticed by modern scans using RF and code-grabbing technology, making it extremely difficult for thieves to steal or hack.
If you're looking for a complete solution of vehicle security that does not only guard against key-cloning, but also track your vehicle if it is stolen, we suggest one of our S7 tracking systems. They work seamlessly with Ghost to provide peace of mind. All of our installations are carried out by a fully certified, experienced and insured TASSA approved installer and you will receive full demonstrations of the product prior to handover with owner's manuals, installation certification, and an emergency card from Ghost.

No RF Scanning
Many thieves use sophisticated equipment to clone vehicle keys and steal vehicles. These devices are readily accessible online and require very little skill to operate. These cloning systems do not make use of RF scanning to identify the Ghost immobiliser.
Instead, the system uses the buttons on your car to create an individual pin code push sequence. This is done using the buttons on your steering wheels or door panels, or on your centre console. It's also a switchable number and not a PIN like a remote fob which makes it extremely difficult to hack.
This makes the Autowatch Ghost very secure and incredibly hassle free to use. It doesn't require an iPhone, but can be utilized with a small waterproof tag or an Apple or Android App (sold separately). You can enter service mode with your mobile device and drive away. Then you can return the vehicle to valet-mode & disable your mobile. This is ideal for classic cars as well as prestige vehicles that are usually serviced at dealer garages.
Brand-dependent These CANBUS immobilisers work with other external security devices such as alarms or trackers. This allows the user the option to choose whether to put their alarm or tracker over the immobilisers on the CAN bus. This is particularly useful in the event you have a Thatcham approved Tracker installed as the tracker is able to be armed before the Ghost is activated.
The CANBUS immobilisers use the cars CAN data bus to stop the codes that are expected to be sent to the ECU and BCM controllers by the remote keys that came with it This stops them from starting the car or activating the engine. These systems can be used to add an extra layer of security for cars that have remote controls that are factory installed.
The Autowatch Ghost will provide you with an increased level of security on your BMW. It is completely hidden inside the wiring, making it nearly impossible to detect. It does not rely on any LED indicators or key-fobs which can also prevent any criminals from noticing its presence inside your car.

As a top Thatcham Installer We install the groundbreaking new product, the Ghost immobiliser from Autowatch which prevents Keyless Entry theft and cloning which is on the increase in modern automobiles. It is a covert device that does not depend on LED indicators or key fobs. It uses the factory buttons inside your car to create an individual pin code sequence that you can push. This is needed to start or move the vehicle. Unless this sequence is entered correctly the car won't start or move at all. A lot of insurance companies require this device to be installed by default, and it can often result in a reduction in monthly cost.
It does not require the cutting of wires in order to be connected because it is connected to the CAN data bus, and functions through the ECU (Engine Control Unit). The unit isn't able to be detected by thieves using high-tech diagnostic tools, and they cannot listen for the sound of a traditional security device. The Ghost Immobiliser can be set up in the service mode, so that your vehicle can be started and driven without requiring the PIN code - this is useful when you need to take it to the garage, or for a valet parking service etc. The PIN code can be changed at any time to provide added security.
Ghost II Ghost II is TASSA-approved, meaning that it is only available by installers who are certified. This provides a high level of security. It also means that the Engineer who installs it has been DBS verified as well as trained and insured.
Although not a replacement for an alarm system we always recommend that you combine it with other physical barriers, such as wheel clamps and crook locks and, if you can, a hidden GPS tracker like Meta Trak VTS to give you the best degree of security. This is especially important if you keep your keys in the ignition when it's not being driven because there are many ways to fool the driver into thinking that they are still inside the vehicle and allow a theft to occur.
